Patrick Armstrong, Co-Founder & CEO
With over 10 years experience as an executive within a radio communications company, an entrepreneurial track record, and a formal business and economics education, Patrick is responsible for the vision, strategy and leadership of Threat4. After steering his first radio communications company to becoming the 6th fastest growing emerging technology company in Canada within 3 years of its beginnings, Patrick shifted his focus to Threat4 where he was responsible for Threat4’s first two independent multi-million dollar military contract. Patrick’s technology and market knowledge, coupled with his business acumen and hands on approach provides Threat4 with a strong foundation for its continued growth.
Richard Myers, Co-Founder, President & COO
As President and Chief Operating Office of Threat4, Richard Myers is responsible for the company’s P&L, financial affairs, capital allocation, and day-to-day operations. Myers is a Co-Founder of Threat4 and headed up the company’s initial round of financing which allowed Threat4 to embark on new technological developments. Over the past 20 years Myers has held Senior Executive positions within the Communications & Telecom industries.
Chris Carter, Chief Engineering Officer & Co-owner
Chris heads up Threat4’s engineering department. Formally, Chris has been on the engineering side of the radio communications business for 15 years, however some say he began tinkering with electronics before he could walk. Chris’ beginnings in the commercial world of radio communication electronics was with Norhammer Limited, which was acquired by Aearo in 1999 and became part of Aearo’s Peltor product line. At Norhammer, and then at Peltor, Chris was responsible for product development, which included board level design and implementation of RF, digital and analogue applications as well as radio interfaces such as the famous and widely distributed FL Peltor series PTT. Chris’ formal education includes a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, and he has specialized in digital, analogue and software technologies for two-way radios and intercoms.
Steve Armstrong, Chief Electro-Acoustics Engineer
Steve joined Gennum as an Analog Integrated Circuit designer straight out of McMaster University's Electrical Engineering program. After sharpening his circuit design skills, his broader interest in audio led to developing a strong electro-acoustic knowledge. The evolution in Hearing Aid circuitry naturally led into developing both software and embedded firmware skills for the transition into today's heavily DSP based solutions. Steve both built and managed the Advanced Development Group with responsibility for developing many of the algorithms featured in Gennum's successful product portfolio. Having over 20 years of experience in field of Integrated Circuit design, with a special focus on the challenges of Hearing Aid design, Steve's focus today is future proofing Threat4’s designs and providing Threat4’s customers with near-human hearing experience while integrated to radio communications.
Christian Connors, Vice President of Sales
Chris comes from significant and successful entrepreneurial background. In 2005 Chris founded LJC Consulting which focused on marketing innovative technologies to the DoD in support of Rapid Technology Insertion Initiatives. LJC identified capability gaps, works with highly motivated companies that possed "game changing" capabilities and marketed those capabilities to all levels of the DoD and Federal Agencies. Among others, LJC managed the sales & marketing efforts for BBN Technologies (now Raytheon BBN Technologies) who has fielded over 9000 Boomerang Shooter Detection Systems. Boomerang was the first capability to go through the Army's CDRT Process which expedites the Army's fielding process for new capabilities. Chris also serves on the Board of Aethercomm, the largest private company provider of Counter IED Subsystems to the US Military. Booked over $500m in sales to DoD and Prime Contractors since 2005. He is also founder of RCS in 1994,
Investor and Board Member of Aethercomm in 2002, Founder LJC Consulting in 2005, Investor and Board Member of Synexxus in 2009, Founder Cognika Intelligence and Defense Solutions in 2010 and became VP Sales and Board Member for Threat4 in 2011.
Jon Campbell, COL US Army (Retired)
Jon retired with almost 27 years commissioned service in the US Army. His service was primarily as an Infantry officer, ultimately retiring as a COL in the Acquisition Corps. He served as an Airborne Ranger with over 125 static line jumps in Mechanized, Airborne and Special Operation Units He has deployed around the world in support of operations and commanded in both peacetime and during combat operations. His Acquisition Corps time was as both a Contracting Officer and a Program Manager (He is DAWIA Level III certified in both).Through his final position at TRADOC/ARCIC, he is an expert in rapid acquisition and transitioning programs into the Army additionally he has extensive knowledge on the ONS and JUONS processes that provide for rapid fielding to Army units deploying and about to deploy. Jon has combat experience in Operation Just Cause, Operation Desert Shield/Storm, Bosnia, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom. He is a Distinguished Military Graduate of the Military College of South Carolina, The Citadel.
J. Dow Covey, Director of Military Sales
J. Dow is responsible for global Threat4 sales. As a Sales Manager, he was responsible for over $30M in annual bookings as the Capture Leader at Rockwell Collins Optronics. He led a team that captured a number of key programs for Optronics including NETT Warrior, Joint Strike Fighter, and the Singapore Soldier Modernization program. Before working at Rockwell Collins, J. Dow served in the US Army as a volunteer to fight the War on Terror. He deployed twice to Iraq: first as a rifleman with the 82nd Airborne Division and as a Stryker Infantry Platoon Leader in the 4/9 Infantry, “Manchus”, Land Warrior equipped battalion. J. Dow was one of the first Soldiers to use the Land Warrior system in combat. In addition to his duties at Threat4, J. Dow serves as a Captain in the Army Reserve. His educational qualifications include a BS from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a JD from Washington and Lee University, and an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA.
Tim Paquette, Director of Goverment Sales
With the company since 2007, Tim has been responsible for much of the field testing in the development of the x-62000 series tactical headset done by all branches of the military as well as numerous tactical units in the United States and Canada. Focusing on the North American market, he has worked closely with law enforcement across the continent for years and has an extensive knowledge of the tactical headset market.
Dan Sherman, Director of Marketing
Subsequent to working for BAE Systems, Dan developed a business model focused on innovative sales and marketing strategies to Industry as well as the Department of Defense. Dan
model is built on his strong network and
relationships within industry and the DoD. Dan combines
industry insight, business perspective, and creative marketing strategies to
grow business. Dan has a profound understanding of the goals
and needs of his customers, and is able to leverage this knowledge to
effectively drive business in any economic market. Utilizing his intimate
knowledge of his principals customer base, Dan’s expertise has directly generated nearly 15m in bookings since 2008. Dan holds a Bachelors of Arts from Saint Anselm College, and a Masters of
Business Administration focused on International Business and Organizational
Leadership from Rivier College.
